I said something that may have sounded vague, so I edited my post only a short time later (as can be seen above) to be *VERY* specific.
"BUYOUT, provided it is not a scam and the seller can provide detailed screenshots and prove everything."
My "BUYOUT" in full capital letters is in force and was in force the moment I made the post, with the condition that (obviously) the buyout no longer applies if you cant provide proof you are not a scammer. You provided proof to meet my needs so my buyout offer is still in force just as it was when I made the offer.

Why are you bidding 7b? I called buyout hours before she edited the post to show no buyout, back when the buyout was 6.5 billion isk.
Anytime someone calls buyout they have the right to not pay the seller if the auction turns out to be a scam. I simply put it in typing because at the time the auction appeared to be shadey. The seller produced a screenshot but also, for some reason, decided to ignore my buyout offer and ERASE her buyout price from the auction rules.
Does that seem right to you? I have already won the character, quit bidding.
Unfortunatly if the seller wants to change her rules after the auction is already over and the buyout has been called I dontthink she can be banned or anything for it, but it is very, very rude and unfair.

You posted a character with a buyout of 6.5b The auction seemed suspicious because it lacked screenshots. I hoped the auction was not a scam (as anyone would) and called buyout because the price looked affordable. Did I fear the auction might be a scam? Yes. But did I call buyout? YES.
I called buyout.
Hours later, you logged in.
You read my BUYOUT.
You got a screenshot to prove it is a real character.
Then you did something wrong. You decided to ignore my buyout and change the auction rules mid way through.
When I informed you of it, you said I dont get to win your character because I was "not sure if I wanted to buyout or not."
I explained that although I was not sure if you were a scammer or not, I WAS SURE I wanted to buy the character, provided (of course) it was not a scam.
In your last post you hinted about "wanting to make a lost of isk." Why dont you stop blaming me for your changing of the rules mid way through the auction and just type:
"I changed the rules because I was happy with my buyout price earlier but got greedy after seeing someone actually accept it. I want more isk even if it means I am a slime laden worm of a rat faced market goon."
Admit it just likethat and I will let this rotten and misguided auction die in peace.

Yes I can.
I'll be nice just for one second and give you some advice. You can still get the most money out of your auctions AND not be a slime laden rat faced lying market goon.
At the START of your auction set your buyout at a super great great price for you but still within reason. (Like 13 billion or something) Say the reserve is hidden, or something like 8 billion. Make a sniper rule of 15 minutes. Give the exact end date and time of the auction. It is best to use in game time so everyone can easily be on the same page. Set the bid incriment to 100m or something.
Then dont deviate from your rules.

Edited by: Sell Fish on 31/08/2006 16:52:12 Edited by: Sell Fish on 31/08/2006 16:49:10 Ghitza said: "Character owner can do whatever he wants with his char so all you can do is cry here that theres no cheap 40m+ sp char for you guys. I will repeat that, he can do WHATEVER he wants, and hes doing it. This character is worth minimum 10b. Gl Nebulacia."
I know the character owner can do whatever she wants. Does that mean morals and intregrity and honor do not apply? I never asked for her to be banned or for her to be forced to sell the character to me. I simply asked that she not try to save face by blaming me because she is greedy and ignorant (of market prices/proceedures).
Capt Rob: "nope thats how eve goes, why should they deprive themselves to get a good char b/c there was an incident between the buyer and another person. If this is not a scam, then i would think its fine to bid on."
There was no "incident" between me and the seller. I called buyout. She decided the buyout she had previously set was too low, she decided to edit her post and say my buyout did not count. I *did not* insult her in any way or call her a scammer. I simply wanted, as everyone else did, to see some evidence that she is the character owner. There is nothing wrong or abnormal about that.
Ghitza (again): "Even if he called BO then what? All you can do now is blame character owner that he has no honor etc."
And that is all I did. Reading: It works! Try it some day.
Lt Jane: "Urm arent we missing the point here , shes stated buy out at 15bil and reserve of 10bil , how on earth can u call buyout of 6.5bil. No where did she agree to the buy out so any one who moan abt calling a stupid buy out should be quiet"
Her original buyout was 6.5 billion. She edited it many hours after I called buyout.
Nikki Cox: "He only treat You as You treat him... In free words: You call him scammer, he ignore Your buyout - fair to me."
Show me where I called the seller a scammer. I simply said I'd like to buy the character. And that if the seller cannot provided proof that she owns the character (since none had yet been given) then my offer is null. There is nothing rude about that.
x2pixel: "The seller is inexperienced at this and made a silly mistake of putting in a very low buyout price. They later amended the buyout price to a sensible amount.
By this time someone had called buyout, and starts getting angry. And people start talking about honour.
Personally....I think that taking advantage of an inexperienced seller to basically fleece them for several BILLION ISK is a bit lacking in the honour dept."
If the seller was inexperienced and made an honest mistake with her buyout price, she should just admit it instead of trying to save face and edit her post and blame things on someone else. As others have said, how can you own a 40+ million SP character and not know the worth of your character or how to easily find the worth of it? Who would sell such an asset without doing even the most basic of preliminary research? At any rate, my problem was that she made a deal, then broke it. And instead of fessing up, she greedily raised the price and tried to save face by blaming others.
tookar: "The only rules being broken here are the ones stating that this is NO a discussion forum . So those of you not bidding who feel the need to post in every thread why dont you go to the general discussion forum and leave this dude to have his auction in peace?"
Hypocrite.

Know whats funny? "Very Large" is my other alt. Take a look at this character thread. This just happened within the hour:
Character sllers need to be bound by their own rules.
I'm getting a little annoyed with this.

I know you may try to claim you were only trying to be funny, but you also probably said what you just did because you think there is some truth to it. Notice that all I said in that other thread was:
"Buyout at 2 billion isk.
Please post confirmation. I'll try to be on all night etc, if you post a time when you will be on I'll be there."
How could that offend anyone?
PS: I've been trying to buy a character for 3 weeks. This is the 6th auction that has fallen through where I was the actual winner. All at no fault of my own.
